Every step count, even the small ones
Progress is not made in giant leap but instead, it is built in the daily grind. Show up, even when it is hard, even when you do not feel like it. A short run, a quick stretch, or even just lacing up your shoes keeps the momentum alive. Consistency is what separates dreamers from achievers. Keep going—you are closer than you think.
Consistency is way more important than hard training. The rule of 80/20 applies to most running methodologies. The rule of 80/20 suggests that 80 percent of your runs should be low intensity, and 20 percent should be high intensity. To develop a solid running base, a runner needs to run a lot of low to medium intensity runs. In fact, this is more tough than a high intensity workout because it is a terribly slow progress. These runs can be boring, and you need a lot of them. But these is the most effective way to build that base and again, consistency is the key to success.
Consistency allows your body to adopt the rigor and get better in small increment. The gradual development of endurance, lung efficiency and building muscles ensures no injuries which can happen because of shock from sudden high intensity workout. This also ensures a runner can have more sustainable and better running performance. Consistency also allows your mind to develop a discipline and routine which is easier to stick to and hence a runner is more likely to achieve the goals.
Bottom line is consistency is extremely important for long term success. There is a famous quote in fitness community “In two weeks, you will feel it. In four weeks, you will see it. In eight weeks, you will hear it” and running is no exception to this. Success does not come from bursts of effort rather; it is built through unwavering commitment. Rain or shine, busy days, or lazy mornings, you show up because your goals matter. It is not about waiting for the perfect moment; it is about making progress in every moment. Stay consistent, and the results will follow
